New Diagnosis
Medical Outreach

Do you know someone who received a diagnosis of Down syndrome? We can help.

DSAA’s Medical Outreach provides resources to hospitals, social workers, and medical providers such as OBGYNs, hospital and birthing center staff, and pediatricians. The initiative helps medical professionals guide new and expectant parents as they navigate the first steps and beyond of this new journey. From to connection to valuable resources, DSAA is here to help every step of the way.

This initiative:

  • ensures expectant parents and families of newborns receive accurate, updated information about Down syndrome from their OBGYN or pediatrician

  • provides information to medical providers about prenatal testing and how to share a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome with expectant parents

  • offers presentations to medical staff on what it’s like to raise a child with Down syndrome and how to approach new or expectant parents
